Charlie Sheen wants the world to know that he's no longer a Vatican warlock assassin with Adonis DNA and a thirst for tiger blood.
"I'm not crazy anymore. That was an episode," Sheen laughingly told reporters at FOX's Television Critics Association party in Pasadena, Calif., Sunday night. "I think I'm a different person than I was yesterday. Everything is a lot more mellow and focused and much more rooted in reality."
And just how is he managing to do that? Sheen, 46, says that spending time with his family has really centered him.
"I've been spending a lot of time with the kids, a lot of time with the family and I'm getting back into work mode," Sheen said. "I'm a single guy hanging out with my children."
And, following a rough 2011 that saw him get fired from the CBS hit Two and a Half Men, his career also seems to be headed for recovery in 2012 -- thanks to his upcoming FX sitcom Anger Management. Sheen says that casting is currently underway for the show, which he'll both produce and star in, and that they will shoot 10 episodes of the comedy in six weeks. He adds that it's "premature" to name celebrity cameos so far, but "everybody" is interested in the show.
"I've been at this 30 years," Sheen said of acting. "It's nice to be in a situation where the people I'm working with are excited about my input. That wasn't the case for a long time."
